Winter is in full swing this week. It's so beautiful outside, except when I have to drive in it. We had a busy day today with the Phillips clan coming early this morning for a crepes and German pancake breakfast. Then, I was suppose to go down to Provo to meet Cynthia for lunch, but the roads were horrible, so I had to call and cancel. And finally, the Kaloi family came later in the afternoon and will be staying with us for a whole week on their winter break vacation. They are planning to ski and visit with lots of friends and family. Keaton is over the top excited to have some buddies around to play.

Happy 21st Anniversary to us! We hired Liza to come entertain the boys for a few hours while we went to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. There was a bit of wait, so we shopped at the Fashion Place mall for about 45 minutes until it was time to go back and eat. We shared a yummy margherita pizza appetizer and mud pie for dessert. I also had a salad and Cory had enchiladas. We talked about the fact that we'd do it all over again, but if we could, we would change some of the things we did or didn't do. We have now officially known each for 30 years, since we were 12, when we first met. It's very mind boggling to think about all the history, events and people we've shared in that amount of time together.

So grateful to share the holiday season with my mom and dad. It's been a couple of years since they've both been with us on Christmas Day. These were taking at the Mulder's Christmas Dinner. I'm really grateful for my mom who came to our house to watch Asia for 12 days while we went to Hawaii. She's the best Santa Clause ever as she had the table decorated with my Christmas dishes and some new cute mugs. She had all the presents wrapped and lined up and the house was all ready for Santa's arrival the next morning. Thanks Mom!!!

Christmas morning makes me feel like a kid again as I see the excitement in their faces! Santa wrapped the downstairs this year and I think it should become a new tradition. We loved having Grandma and Grandpa Wall with us this year. We were all exhausted from jet lag, so after a good nap and a yummy breakfast of sourdough pancakes, bacon, sausage and juice, we were ready to party at the Mulder's house. This is our 2nd time sharing Christmas dinner with them. I'm grateful for good friends and wonderful family connections. Christmas '09 was definitely a good one.

Arrived morning early this morning at 6:00 a.m. It was a long night, but the flight was smooth and Keaton slept almost the entire way home. Grandma and Asia were awake when we arrive home a little before 7:00. We bounced around a bit with Asia and then the weary travelers crashed for a few hours, even Keaton curled up next to Grandma on the couch and slept. I still had a few things to do before Christmas, so I willed myself out of bed, showered and dressed. I went to the grocery store for some food and last minute things. Cory went out shopping too and luckily Grandma was here to watch Keaton and Eli play for a few hours.
I ordered some sushi for dinner and the boys were really good and were in bed by 8:30. Santa's elves worked and worked until about 1:00 in the morning to make the magic of Christmas happen. Keaton has been so excited for Santa's arrival that he made milk, cookies and wrote him a note all by himself. He sprinkled the reindeer food on the front porch and was willing to go to bed early. He did wake up at 11:00 and had to go to the bathroom and he was really cute about sleeping by himself in the bed. I'm really glad we were home for Christmas.

Yesterday Carlie and Raquel went downstairs to have breakfast together on their last morning in Hawaii. Jacek wanted to do the same thing, so he and I went on a mom/son date this morning. It was a beautiful morning and the view was spectacular. He ordered eggs, bacon and pancakes with oj. I had an omelet. It was nice to relax and just be together laughing and joking and talking. It might have to become our Maui tradition.
