Today was Grandparent's Day in Kindergarten.  It was really cute to see all of the grandparents there with the kids.  Keaton has been looking forward to it for days and days.  He loves his grandma very much.  Here they are answering a questionnaire about Keaton's favorite games and books as a young child and then Grandma answers the same questions about her childhood.  Very cool project.  They also made a kite together and the kids sang a song for the Grandparents.

Keaton and I went to Dr. DeHart's office today for a tooth make-over.  Keaton had a little cavity that needed to be fixed and then the dentist touched up one of his teeth with a little whiting gel.  I have had to cancel this specific appointment about five times in the past two months.  Keaton always seemed to be sick wherever I scheduled or rescheduled the appointment.  I'm glad it's finally over and so is he.  I didn't really tell him until this morning and then he worried about it the entire two hours. He even teared up when he climbed into the chair and started playing Mario Kart.  The dental assistant was really good to him and talked him through everything she was doing.  Then Dr. DeHart came in and did the same thing.  They just kept telling him, in simple terms, each step that they did to reassure him it was okay.  They did put the pig nose on him with an orange flavored smell.  He calmed down pretty fast and it relaxed him enough that he was able to just play his game and not be worried at the end.  I love the staff at Dr. D's office.

The Leprechaun came to visit the Kindergarten class today.  The kids set a trap for him, but their plans were foiled by that rascally green creature.  He left little green footprints all over the room.  We followed them down the hall and into the cafeteria where a pot of gold (green doughnuts) lay waiting to be found.  That pesky leprechaun turned over chairs, put the garbage can on the desks, scattered coats and papers every where.  He left quite a mess!  I even saw little tiny green footprints all over the tables too.

Most of the time I pack a lunch for Jacek every morning.  He hates school lunch, except for pizza, and I want him to have a good food to eat.  This is pretty typical of what I pack for him everyday.  

• Either a ham, turkey and cheese sandwich or peanut butter and jelly
• Sun Chips
• Applesauce
• Yogurt
• Carrots
• Apple 
• Treat, which is usually chocolate covered raisins, almonds, peanuts or banana chips

*The day I took this photo was a game day, so I added the Salted Nut Roll.  Not typical of everyday!

I also refill a big Fiji water bottle everyday and he drinks that throughout the day.  Once in a while, I'll give him money for pizza and a chocolate milk or orange juice.  If I'm feeling really lazy and don't want to make his lunch is when that usually happens!

One of our favorite things to do on Sunday afternoons is go to the bowling alley.  It's the cheapest day to go and the kids love it.  Keaton is all about the games he can play.  He used all of his Tooth Fairy quarters on games at the bowling alley.  It's all about the french fries too.  I love going again because they replaced the bad help with really, really good help behind the counter.  It was way past time!!!

The moon was setting over the Oquirrah Mountains this morning and it was so gorgeous that I had to take a picture.  It's not a great picture because it was on my iphone and there was telephone lines in the way, but it was really quite a sight to see and I wanted to document it.

This morning, after I came back from taking Jacek to school, Keaton was up at the counter eating his breakfast that he had made himself.  Not only did he pour the cereal and the milk, but he successfully put everything away too.  WOW!!!  That is fantastic for a Kindergartener.  His future wife will be thrilled by this small, but significant achievement!

Keaton lost his third tooth today.  He pulled it out bravely in Kindergarten and then brought it home in a baggie.  It bleed a little which he was a little obsessed with.  The Tooth Fairy will be coming tonight!

I went to parent/teacher conference this morning with Mrs. L and I had to take a picture of the chicks that hatched in their classroom last week.  The eggs arrived last Tuesday when I was co-oping and Mrs. L said she's never had all the eggs hatch in all the years she has been teaching.  I thought to myself, this will be the year it happens.  Well, it almost did and they have 13 baby chicks to prove it.  They were hatching all over the place.  The kids were so excited and it is a fun thing to do.  Jacek even remembers the baby chicks in his Kindergarten class 8 years ago.
