This 7 year old boy is a fish. He would live in the swimming pool 24/7, if I let him. I love the fact that he is a good swimmer. He loves to dive to the bottom of the pool and get the torpedos or other diving toys. He loves to hold his breath and go up and down, up and down as many times as he can. He loved his red snorkel and mask this time in both the ocean and the pool. I am constantly amazed at how fast he picks things up like breathing with a snorkel.
I love reading in Hawaii. I didn't feel like I did a lot of reading this trip, but I did finish "Laughing Allegra" that I had been trying to finish since my New York trip in October. And then I started this book that I bought at the book fair. It's a cute kid book and I'm enjoying it so far.
We went night swimming a couple of times this trip. The first time it was just Keaton and Jacek and they had the whole pool to themselves. The security guard talked to us for a little while about how nice it was to see the complex busy again. They only have 4 guests the whole month of September. Wow! That made me sad. Even though I hate to see the Christmas crowds come, I'm glad the tourism has picked up a bit. The next time we went night swimming, DR and his kids came down with us. Keaton did some spinning thing in the pool and got dizzy. It really freaked him out, which in turn, freaked me out. He got a little disoriented, but then rebounded and swam for a while with the kids.
We went over the other side of the island to Lahaina today. Keaton has been looking forward to going so he could play glow in the dark putt-putt golf. Then we walked down the street shopping. They've closed down my Sargent Leisure store and the Blue Lagoon bar at the end of Lahaina street. I was so disappointed not to get my chocolate banana drink. :(
The kids were happy with their giant shaved ice. Cory, Jacek and Keaton all got a henna tattoo while Grandpa and I sat in the little courtyard and had a drink of water.
Carlie and Jacek wanted to try the surfboard with a paddle today. The guy downstairs gives them a land lesson and then they get to try it out in the ocean for a few hours. They both used their own money to pay for it too, so I think they really appreciated the experience even more. Cory was their supervisor and he and DR even tried it out for a while. Jacek said that was his favorite thing that he did in Hawaii this year.
Mama's Fish House! Oh my, how we all love this place. It's so beautiful there and the service is always first class and the food is delicious. Everyone ordered fancy drinks, food and dessert. I had steak and it was so yummy. Wish I had taken a picture of it. Thank you Grandpa Wall for treating us all to a wonderful dinner out!
DR was excited about the maiden voyage of this fancy new airplane. We all watched it live as it took off from Seattle for a 5 hour flight. I'm glad I was there to take this photo and I know he'll appreciate it too.

We were all laughing pretty hard at baby Ella not wanting any part of her skin to be touching the grass. She looks like a little turtle.
Keaton was a little nervous about flying today. He was able to talk with the pilots on our first flight out of Salt Lake and they reassured him they would be safe, but it would be a little bumpy. They weren't kidding about that either. We waited for a little while on the runway to be de-iced and Cory got sick from lack of air and then the turbulence. I bought this reindeer necklace for Keaton and I told him that Rudolph would help guide our plane safely just like he does for Santa's sleigh. It worked because he was really relaxed after that and did really well on both plane rides. Unfortunately, Rudolph met his demise on the last flight as he fell off and we didn't find him. He served his propose nicely. Thanks Rudolph!
